Following the success of the community engagement and participation approach for the 2018 UN High-Level Meeting (UNHLM) on TB, it was agreed a similar approach will be crucial to the success of the 2023 UNHLM on TB. The Stop TB Partnership is seeking to select an organization or a consortium that will mobilize, engage, and coordinate communities and people affected by TB, support the advocacy agenda and messages of affected communities, and ensure a united civil society and community voice leading up to, during, and following the 2023 UNHLM on TB.

The Stop TB Partnership and Devex will host a virtual event on 22 September 2022 on the sidelines of the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 77) that will bring global health leaders together to focus on what’s needed to accelerate progress for ending TB by 2030.

The Stop TB Partnership released its July 2022 newsletter, presenting the initiatives and activities carried out during the month.

To facilitate south-south learning on early experiences and exchange lessons learned on computer-aided detection (CAD) and X-ray implementation and to meet global demand for support in rolling these digital tools, the Stop TB Partnership launched a global platform that brings together prospective, early, and experienced implementers debuting with two webinars in June.

The Global Plan to End TB 2023-2030 outlines the priority actions and estimated financial resources needed to end TB as a global health threat by 2030.

The Stop TB Partnership, in collaboration with USAID and its Infectious Disease Detection and Surveillance project (IDDS), have developed packages of customizable training modules for countries to adapt, using the Introducing New Tools Project (iNTP).

To increase screening in hard-to-reach areas, and to help close the TB diagnostic gap in Nigeria, the Stop TB Partnership's Introducing New Tools Project (iNTP) and partners USAID and the Nigeria National TB Program, has been supporting KNCV Nigeria and the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria (IHVN) in rolling out ultra-portable X-Ray and computer-aided detection technology throughout the country. The 35th meeting of the Stop TB Partnership Board, held on 19-20 May 2022, called for an urgent enhancement of political commitment and funding to end TB by 2030, and for placing TB high on the political agenda ahead of 2023 UN High-Level Meeting on TB.
