07 May 2015 - Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - The first of four regional consultations on the Global Plan to Stop TB 2016-2020 ended with great enthusiasm and consensus on the directions, objectives, targets as well as structure.

India undertook the largest ever TB programme review over the last two weeks. Following this, the Ministry of Health of India launched on 23 April, a bold Call to Action for a TB Free India.

This is a note for implementers providing a general overview and reviewing the steps they need to take in order to access the drug.

15 April 2015 – Paris, France – The 26th Stop TB Partnership Coordinating Board has approved the first draft of the Global Plan to Stop TB 2016-2020 following a period of review by the Task Force and members of the Board. Over the next four months, online and regional consultations will seek input from anyone working with or affected by TB.

14 April 2015 - Paris, France - The 26th Stop TB Partnership Coordinating Board meeting hosted by France at the French Ministry of Health opened in Paris today. The high-level Board meeting is chaired by the Minister of Health for South Africa and Chair of the Stop TB Partnership Coordinating Board, Dr Aaron Motsoledi and the Vice Chair, Dr Joanne Carter, Executive Director of RESULTS USA.

13 April 2015 - Paris, France - A first draft of the next Global Plan to Stop TB 2016-2020 was today shared for review on the fringes of the opening of the 26th Stop TB Partnership Coordinating Board meeting in Paris tomorrow. The Plan will call for a paradigm shift from just controlling TB to ending TB in the fight against the disease over the next five years if the world is to achieve an end to TB, as the World Health Assembly committed in 2014.

The Nigerian government sanctioned US$1.42 million to procure quality assured Second Line Drugs (SLDs) that will be used to provide treatment for 500 multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB) patients. The second line drugs ordered by the government will be delivered by Stop TB Partnership’s Global Drug Facility starting June 2015.

The Stop TB Partnership Childhood TB subgroup and the Union Childhood TB working group published a newsletter in commemoration of World TB Day.
