GUADALAJARA, Mexico, 11 October 2017 – The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and the International Union against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, also known as The Union, announced a partnership agreement to deepen their shared commitment to end tuberculosis as an epidemic.

25 September marks the first ever World Lung Day, a day of advocacy coordinated by the Forum of International Respiratory Societies, for all those affected by, and working to end, respiratory disease.

Public Health Action is the free access, online journal of The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease. The journal focuses on tuberculosis, lung health, non-communicable diseases and related public health issues.

The Union welcomes the statement from the 9^th annual BRICS summit (PDF 484 KB) affirming a commitment to foster and promote R&D that will ensure access to quality, affordable medicines, and to support up-coming high level meetings on tuberculosis (TB). The BRICS summit was held in Xiamen, China on 3-5 September.
