Activists call on South African government to make TB a political priority

TB activists call for the disease to be made a political priority in the country and demand multisectoral departmental accountability.

In an open letter to the South African Minister of Health Dr Joe Phaahla, TB activists called for the disease to be made a political priority in the country and demanded multisectoral departmental accountability. They outlined six demands for implementation by the end of this year. The letter was submitted on the final day of the South African TB Conference held on 4-7 June 2024 in Durban.
