Advocates call on Indian government to improve its response to drug-resistant TB

Advocates call for minimizing the use of injectable agents and scaling up universal drug susceptibility testing.

In an open letter sent on 21 December 2018, advocates called on the Indian government for an immediate adequate response to drug-resistant TB, which “continues to pose a major public health challenge in the country.” They called for minimizing the use of injectable agents, expanding the use of bedaquiline and delamanid, and scaling up universal drug susceptibility testing in the country.
