Advocates call for WHO to update Delamanid Guidance to include children

On World TB Day, and in light of new evidence of safety in children, advocates called on the World Health Organization to update its 2014 guidance on delamanid to include children.

On March 24th, the Sentinel Project, Treatment Action Group, and 148 concerned individuals sent an open letter to the World Health Organization (WHO) requesting its partnership to improve access to delamanid for children. The signatories urged the WHO to rapidly update the 2014 delamanid guidance taking into consideration recently available evidence of delamanid's safety in children as young as 6 years old.
