In 2013, Southern African Development Community (SADC) nations came together to focus on health in the mining industry of their nations. While efforts to fight the disease are underway, thousands of miners are dying each year and the economic viability of SADC economies and the mining industry is under threat.
The world needs innovative new partnerships for the research and development of new tools — TB vaccines, new drugs and diagnostics — to fight the epidemic of TB in the mines.
Sign the letter to SADC — ask them to prioritize TB R&D in the Declaration on TB in the Mining Sector.
