2015 Union World Conference on Lung Health
Date: December 4, 2015
Time: 18h00 - 22h30
Location: Southern Sun The Cullinan, 1 Cullinan Street Cape Town Waterfront
Join Treatment Action Group for a symposium:
In 2014, nearly 10 million people became sick with TB. One and a half million people died from this preventable, curable disease. We have the knowledge and tools to design comprehensive strategies to achieve zero TB deaths, new infections, and suffering. We know the interventions that work: active case finding to identify those already sick, treatment for all forms of TB, and prevention to halt progression to TB disease for those already infected. So why aren’t we implementing them? This symposium will focus on why we must—and how we can—overcome barriers to scale up research, access, and political will to support a comprehensive package of care.
