During the launch of the National TB Prevention Week held in Pucallpa, Ucayali, the deputy minister said that this budget is part of the Intervention Plan for the Prevention and Control of TB and will be used to improve the equipment of health facilities, as well as its laboratories and, will increase the coverage of preventive campaigns, among other actions.
"We have to unite to fight permanently against tuberculosis. Today the authorities make the pact with society to work for a healthy culture, we have to work to protect the abilities of our children and so that patients do not abandon the treatment and can be cured, "said Henry Rebaza.
Currently, the Ministry of Health, through the Regional Health Directorates (Diresas) strengthens TB diagnosis methods (rapid sensitivity tests), also provides a basket of food (PANTBC) within the Social Complementary Food Program co-executed with the Ministry of Health. Development and Social Inclusion (MIDIS).
Tuberculosis Prevention Week began with the installation of an informative fair in several cities of the country. In Pucallpa, a TB screening and diagnosis campaign was conducted, and counseling was given on hand washing, healthy eating and vaccination against yellow fever, among others.
