The Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare released Guidelines for use of Bedaquiline in RNTCP through conditional access under Programmatic Management of Drug Resistant Tuberculosis in India.

The Guidelines regulate the use of bedaquiline within the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (PNTCP) through conditional access under the Programmatic Management of Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (PMDT) at six sites in five cities in India (February 2016). The guidelines were developed as the end-product of a series of deliberations and a national workshop organized by Central TB Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India with technical and organizational support from World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office for India in July 2015.

The Guidelines are consistent with the WHO interim guidance on the use of bedaquiline to treat MDR-TB and complement the existing PNTCP Guidelines for PMTD in India.
