The Multi-stakeholder hearing on TB will be held on 8-9 May 2023, providing an opportunity for all relevant stakeholders to contribute to the ongoing preparatory process for the upcoming UN High-Level Meeting on TB.
Preparations for the United Nations (UN) High-Level Meeting on TB (HLM on TB) have intensified, following the adoption by the UN General Assembly of the resolution “Scope, modalities, format and organization of the high-level meeting on the fight against tuberculosis” on 24 February 2023.
In the resolution, Member States decided that the one-day high-level meeting on the fight against TB would be convened by the President of the General Assembly in New York on 22 September 2023. The theme of the meeting is: “Advancing science, finance and innovation, and their benefits, to urgently end the global tuberculosis epidemic, in particular, by ensuring equitable access to prevention, testing, treatment and care.” For more information, access the resolution here.
On 1 March 2023, the President of the UN General Assembly announced that the Multi-stakeholder hearings on TB/Universal Health Care/Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response will be held on 8-9 May 2023 at the United Nations in New York. The Hearings will provide an opportunity for all relevant stakeholders to contribute to the ongoing preparatory process for the High-Level Meetings, with a focus on the current state of efforts and top needs to accelerate response.
