Vacancy: Consultant post for the TB/HIV and community engagement unit of Global TB Programme of WHO

World Health Organization
March 4, 2016, 11:50 p.m.

TB/HIV and community engagement unit of the World Health Organization (WHO)’s Global TB Programme coordinates the Department’s work on TB/HIV and the delivery of integrated community based TB activities through both national TB programmes and the engagement of non-governmental (NGO) and other civil society organisations (CSO) to integrate TB into their community-based work in HIV, maternal and child health, primary health care and other sectors such as education, agriculture and livelihood development programmes.

The global consultation with NGOs and other CSOs in Addis Ababa on the End TB Strategy in November 2015 produced several implications for follow-up action by WHO and others to more fully engage NGOs and other CSOs in TB services.

Under the direct supervision of the Coordinator of the TB/HIV and community engagement unit and in collaboration with other members of the team the consultant will lead and contribute to the creation of an NGO Forum and Civil Society Task Force.
