IAS Educational Fund and Civil Society Access Initiative
The International AIDS Society (IAS) launches the IAS Educational Fund – a mechanism aimed to provide and invest in educational opportunities that support the frontline HIV workforce.
The IAS Educational Fund will enable 100 clinicians and 40 advocates to attend the 21st International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2016), which will be held 18-22 July 2016 in Durban, South Africa. Applications for grants to attend AIDS 2016 will open on 20 April and close on 11 May.
AIDS 2016 is partnering with the South Africa Development Fund to provide an additional 200 registrations from the newly created Civil Society Access Initiative. The initiative is aimed to increase the number of civil society participants from sub-Saharan Africa. It is open to people from sub-Saharan Africa working or volunteering in the field of HIV and AIDS and people living with HIV and/or belong to a community that is disproportionately affected by HIV. Applications close on 29 April.
