The Stop TB Partnership collaborated with UNDP to develop the Guide, which will help civil society and government to address legal and policy barriers and opportunities to increase access to TB health services.

Since 2005, the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB & Malaria (GFATM) has been supporting national efforts to combat HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria as well as strengthen health systems in Sudan. Investing around 400 million USD, the project has achieved great milestones in the fight against these diseases during the past 12 years.

New York, 8 February - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) announced a new US$11 million grant to fight tuberculosis (TB) in Bolivia. Aiming to strengthen detection, diagnosis and treatment of TB in the South American country, the funds will focus on TB/HIV co-infections, drug resistant TB, and TB in Bolivian prison populations.

The Checklist has been developed to support the integration of gender-responsive components into the implementation of HIV programmes supported by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria (the Global Fund). The Checklist in its 2015 revised form provides specific steps and examples to ensure that the gender dimensions of not only HIV but also tuberculosis (TB) and malaria are addressed in all phases of programming. For this reason the Checklist is intended to be used in conjunction with UNDP’s ‘Discussion Paper on Gender and TB’ and ‘Discussion Paper on Gender and Malaria’, both of which contribute to the evidence base required to make the strong investment case for increased gender-sensitive interventions in all three diseases.
