Report: Global Fund targets in South African prisons

Released by the TB non-profit the Aurum Institute, this document outlines organisations receiving international funding to address TB in prisons as well as goals and timelines.

International financing mechanism The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria has awarded South Africa funding to address high levels of tuberculosis (TB) in its prisons.

According to this document released at the June 2014 South African TB Conference, the money is set to flow through organisations including Aurum, the Right to Care and the National Department of Health. The report also notes additional US funding to address the issue.

The document also includes a post presentation of Aurum’s work in selected prisons also released at the conference.
