On International Women’s Day, 8 March 2021, TBWomen will be launched as a network accompanied by a short panel discussion featuring women who lead in TB. TBWomen is a new global network of women in their diversity working toward a gender-transformative TB response. The event will be co-hosted by the Stop TB Partnership which will release a position paper focusing on gender-sensitive TB interventions.

As COVID-19 derails TB progress, advocates demand renewed commitment to end TB (post)
In March last year, I had written about the potential negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on tuberculosis (TB) services. I had expressed concern that TB services is might be one of the biggest casualties. A year later, the verdict is in: the pandemic has had a devastating impact on TB services. According to WHO, an estimated 1.4 million fewer people received necessary care for TB during 2020 compared with the previous year, because of Covid-19. According to the Stop TB Partnership, 12 months of Covid-19 eliminated 12 years of progress in the global fight against TB.

The TB Europe Coalition released a policy brief aiming to increase the meaningful engagement of civil society organizations and TB affected communities in the implementation of the Multisectoral Accountability Framework on TB in the time of COVID-19 pandemic in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) region.
TAG online training course: TB Preventive Treatment | Fundamentals for Activists! (post)
For the third year, Treatment Action Group (TAG), with support from the IMPAACT4TB project, is organizing a self-guided Moodle online training course (2 May - 6 June 2021), TB Preventive Treatment | Fundamentals for Activists!, open to any members of TB civil society and communities. The course equips activists with everything they need to know to advocate for the highest-attainable standard of TB preventive treatment.
