Expression of Interest: PMDT consultants training

WHO HQ in collaboration with WHO AFRO is organising a training course for consultants in Programmatic Management of Drug-resistant TB (PMDT) in Durban, South Africa from 24 November to 2 December 2014 and is inviting expressions of interest from potential candidates to be considered for training.

The criteria for selection as trainees are placed below:

Education:
Essential: A degree in Medicine or Master's degree in a relevant area

Experience:
Essential: At least five (5) years’ experience in supporting high burden, resource-limited countries in the planning, implementation and monitoring of the programmatic management of TB with basic knowledge of DR-TB

Desirable: At least two years of experience in working/assisting DR-TB control programmes

The training course will be conducted in English and hence good communication skills in the language are essential.

The seats are limited and preference will be given to candidates from the WHO African region with availability for undertaking at least two consultancy missions* each year.

(*The trained consultants are contacted for undertaking a mission based on the needs for the Region assessed by WHO-AFRO and hence the number of actual missions offered may vary)
