Counting down to World TB Day

Stop TB Partnership launches World TB Day webpage and social media campaign.

1st March 2016 -  Geneva, Switzerland - March is the month when many, many years ago Robert Koch presented his groundbreaking discovery of mycobacterium tuberculosis. March is also the month in which we amplify our efforts to push TB higher on the agendas of decision makers, stakeholders, governments, programs, partners and communities. 

This year, in line with the paradigm shift called for by the Global Plan to End TB 2016-2020, we want to make sure we get a good head start and that we do things differently. This is why we are stepping up our web presence for World TB Day and we have developed a range of online tools for all of us to use.

• For the entire duration of month of March, the World TB Day page will be the landing page of StopTB.org, while the regular Stop TB Partnership home page will remain accessible under ‘Home’. On the World TB Day page, you will find all materials related to World TB Day (a direct link to the page can be found here). Feel free to refer to it in your World TB Day communications and to share it with your wider networks.

• All previously sent out campaign materials can also be found here and are available for separate download. Please note that for the very first time these materials can be tailored to your specific needs by changing the colors and languages.

• This year we are scaling up our social media presence through a number of social media tools and a dedicated World TB Day campaign designed to maximize our audience: #UnitetoEndTB. You can find all of the information on this here. We would greatly appreciate it if you could participate widely and share it through all your social media channels.

• As in previous years, the Stop TB Partnership will also be offering an overview of all World TB Day related activities worldwide. Please take a moment to add your activities to the events map so that we can promote them with a wide audience.  

We will End TB only if we are united, coordinated and if we believe and rely on each other. It is in our power to make the whole month of March 2016 and the day of the 24^th March memorable ones.
