Survivors of TB and other lung diseases are invited to attend the 51st Union World Conference on Lung Health free-of-charge
To hold governments accountable for global commitments and to find solutions to tuberculosis (TB) and lung disease, it is essential to place people with lived experiences central in the conversation.
With this in mind, The Union has today announced that survivors of TB and lung diseases, including COVID-19, will be invited to join the 51st Union World Conference on Lung Health free-of-charge.
The Union World Conference will take place virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This new virtual format will allow an affordable pricing structure enabling participants to benefit from The Union’s most accessible event.
However, The Union acknowledges that reduced fees may still be cost prohibitive for many community members. We are committed to ensuring that all survivors of TB and lung disease have a fair opportunity to join the global conversation on lung health.
As in past years, The Union will also be offering 100 sponsored registrations for affected community and civil society members, the application process for which will be announced shortly. These sponsored registrations will not be affected by the early registration deadlines.
The Union takes pride in its diverse membership and community, and the Union World Conference serves as a vital, unifying space to collaborate and share the latest science and research that the lung health community relies on for its critical work. As the world reels from the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for this shared space has never been more urgent.
