Advocates call on Nigerian President to support and personally attend the UN High-Level Meeting on TB.

On 9 July 2018, Afrihealth Optonet Association sent a letter to the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, congratulating him for his continued leadership in the global fight to end TB and requesting his support and attendance at the UN High-Level Meeting on TB (UN HLM) in September.

“We, the TB stakeholder and communities are looking forward to His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari’s attendance at the UN HLM on TB on 26th September to join other Heads of State in pledging their commitment to accelerate progress towards ending TB by 2030, and outline key actions being taken by Nigeria to follow through on the commitments in the Political Declaration expected to be endorsed be Heads of State at the UN HLM.”
