ERS/WHO TB Consilium on difficult-to-treat TB and TB/HIV cases

If are you a physician dealing with complex M/XDR-TB, TB/HIV and other difficult-to-treat TB cases, the ERS/WHO TB Consilium can help you to manage them, free of charge.

The ERS/WHO TB Consilium is a global initiative to improve treatment, care and support for difficult-to-treat TB cases, with the overall aim of curing patients and preventing the emergence of drug-resistant strains of TB.

The initiative was launched in April 2013 in Europe and has since become operational in English, Russian and Spanish, and will soon also be available in Portuguese.

In addition, via collaboration with civil society and community, a parallel function will soon allow interactions of current TB patients and the families of TB patients with experts, other TB patients and survivors, nurses and psychologists.

Anyone can access and utilize the platform at no cost. Detailed expert opinions by 2 qualified experts are made available 24–48 hours after initial inquiry.

Clinicians and providers can check out the ERS/WHO E-Consilium here: www.tbconsilium.org and TB patients should get excited for the fall 2014 launch of the patient platform!

HOW THIS E-TOOL WORKS:

If you seek expert advice, simply access the website (www.tbconsilium.org), create an account, upload clinical case information following the step-by-step instructions, and wait for rapid e-advice in the form of a clinical report developed by 2 experts in the field and compiled by an Area Coordinator (average turn around time: 1–2 days).
