Angola: Over 40.000 cases of tuberculosis recorded in 2010

At least 45.000 cases of tuberculosis were recorded throughout the country in 2011.

This was said to Angop over the weekend in Sumbe city, coastal Kwanza Sul province, by the director of Luanda sanatorium hospital, Afonso Wete, in ambit of a workshop on "Tuberculosis ways of transmission and prevention".

The event was promoted by the by the provincial committee of the ruling MPLA party, in the ambit of the celebrations of its 55th founding anniversary, to be marked on 10 December.

He said that in Angola one in each three people are contaminated with Koch virus, without developing the illness.
